Administrative Apprenticeship
Fundraising: The Fundraising Apprentice will have a hands-on experience in learning about the world of nonprofit fundraising, which is a vital part of nonprofit business. The apprentice will gain industry knowledge on donor relationship management, grant writing, special events, fundraising campaigns, data base management, and more. The apprentice will take on responsibilities and projects to support the Development Officer in annual campaign, participate in grant writing, and special events.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of taking on multiple projects
- Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Word and Excel
- A desire to learn development knowledge and skills
- Enthusiastic and flexible team player
Reports to Development Officer
Marketing: The Marketing Apprentice will learn the ins and outs about how we brand and market our competitive season through advertising, digital marketing, social media, public relations, and other audience engagement, development and research methods that will help expand our network.

- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to take on multiple projects at once

Reports to Marketing Manager
Managing Director Assistant: The Managing Director Assistant will work closely with the Managing Director and the rest of ArtsWest staff to carry out day-to-day administrative tasks of running a professional theatre. This apprentice will have the opportunity to observe theatre professionals at work and will be part of various projects within the whole organization.

Reports to Managing Director
Artistic Apprenticeship
Production Management: The Production Management Apprentice will work closely with the Production Manger to learn the full production process including casting, rehearsals, scheduling, and running shows in assistance to the Production Manager.

- Able to take on multiple projects at once
- A flexible, multi-tasking team player
Reports to Production Manager
Stage Management: The Stage Management Apprentice will work closely with the Stage Manger to learn the full show process including rehearsals, tech, set-up and strike, and running shows in assistance to the Stage Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous stage management experience strongly preferred
- Strong verbal communicator with attention to detail
- A flexible, multi-tasking team player
- Able to commit full time to the entire run of a production
Directing: The Directing Apprentice will work to assist the director in the production of the show while having the opportunity to observe theatre professionals at work. Some of the tasks will involve researching and reading plays, assisting Stage Manager and Director during rehearsals.
