November 29, 2013 – December 29, 2013
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s enduring classic, Little Women follows the beloved stories of the March sisters as they come of age in Civil War America. This timeless captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope, and everlasting love.
Defiant and headstrong Jo, delicate Beth, sweet Meg, and petulant Amy captivate us as they enchant the men in their lives. Each young woman with the guidance of their Marmee, seek to find their voice – just as this powerful score brings us the sounds of a young America finding its way in the new world. Through laughter, tears, and a profound uplifting of spirit, the March sisters will wind their way into your heart, gently taking your breath away.
This story – based on Louisa May Alcott’s own childhood – is so deeply etched in the cultural and emotional landscape of our country, that it resurfaces generation after generation to capture our hearts. This holiday season, let ArtsWest bring you and your family on this journey of courage, friendship and loss – reminding us to care for what we believe in and to care deeply for those we choose to love.

“Clearly a case where a show comes off better in a more intimate space than on a Broadway stage, I wholeheartedly endorse Little Women as a warm theatrical treasure, perfectly timed for a holiday season outing” – Talkin’ Broadway , David-Edward Hughes
“Director Mathew Wright’s production is never outweighed by its heady and well-beloved source’…as he ‘creates a memory play with the feel of a dream on stage. Wright creates a memorable production.” – Seattle Gay News, Paul Torres
“I compare the Lead actress (Frasca) as Jo as Ballsy going from Tomboy to sophisticated with the voice of Judy Garland.” – OUTview online , MK Scott
“Patricia Haines-Ainsworth as Aunt March quickly became one of my favorites, giving us a funnier and more robust version of the opinionated aunt than the book.” – EDGE Seattle, Autumn Needles
“Superb singing, excellent choreography and it was very well cast…this is a perfect holiday show for the whole family.” – Drama in the Hood, Marie Bonfils
